It’s March 2020 and the Covid-19 virus is sweeping the Middle East. In Syria Asaad’s secret police units are using the cover of the virus to clean house. Killing political revivals and those in his Syrian Arab Army that have been either totally incompetent or epically successful; both are a threat to his grip on Syria which after nearly a decade is finally strengthening.
The Lion of AS Sukhnah
Two men in dusty suits; John Gold and Narl Mustashar Alzalam arrive in the AS’Sukhnah barracks building used by Lt Al Dariq and his platoon with some faithful news:
After successfully beating off an ISIS attack from the south, the Syrian media played up the bravery of Lt AL Dariq and his platoon of 32 men. The exploits of bravery in the face of overwhelming odds was just too good to pass up for the media heads in Damascus and the battle may have been played up a little too much in Prime Minister Asaad’s opinion.
At least that was his excuse for shooting General Sahif Salhid dead with is Makarov when the general told him he had promoted the young Lt to a Lt Colonel, for moral and propaganda prepossess. “I have been ‘Advised’ of a MUCH better use of AL Dariq’s head than placing a Colonel’s cap on it!”
Narl advises Lt Dariq to leave AS’Sukhnah immediately. He also gives him an ancient Assyrian scepter of ruler ship.
