Interview with Counte Fenalik 1789 |
||
Fenalik approaches the team directly, his manner is sneering, assured and superior. His words drip with malice. Captain Malon and Dr. Rigault ask him questions about his where-abouts the night before. The conversation is civilized but reeks with sinister intent. The Comte claims to be a staunch Royalist, returning from his time in India in 1785 after the Treaty of Paris in 1784 forfeited all his lands there. Then the Interview is interrupted by a servant of the king announcing the sudden death of the Dauphin, the crown prince of France. Comte Fenalik warns Dr. Rigault that he will have more important problems to deal with soon enough and excuses him self and leaves.

The Investigators: |
After Counte Fenalik leaves Captain
Malon and Dr. Rigault had planned to bring the evidence to the queen to get her support before
laying charges at the Comte for the murder of the Raymonds at their print shop in Paris.
The death of the Daulphin changes all that and the Team convinces the Captain to let them get more evidence of Counte Fenalik's depravity so they can have an iron clad case against the Comte in the courts. The Captain and the Doctor agree and send the team to spy on the Comte at his home in Poissy.
