"Calder's Action": Battle of Cape Finisterre July 22nd 1805

Objective:

The allied French and Spanish fleet has to get past the British fleet to reach France. Their primary objective is to escape off the East edge of the map. The British objective is to stop as many as possible. Napoleon wants at least 51 Ships of the Line at Boulogne by August 1st (The British have, according to his French spies 25 ships of the Line in the Channel). He currently has 30. He wants a roughly two to one advantage in Ships of the Line or he will not launch his invasion of Britain.

Vice Admiral Calder and his fleet of 15 Ships of the Line were on Blockade duty off Northern Spain when French Vice Admiral Villeneuvue rounded Cape Finisterre on their way to the Channel with 20 Ships of the Line.

 

The Campaign Battle:

The battle system used: FRIGATE by SPI (35 ships and two players; best system for this.)

The Game Date and time: June 10th 2015 at PFC Games. Set up was at 4pm. Game started at 4:30 and was completed by 6:30pm.

The allied French and Spanish fleet was Commanded  by Mike Kilker (Rear Admiral Jeane Paul Jeane)

The British fleet was Commanded  by Jim Mead (Rear Admiral Jack Howe)
