STAR TREK ADVENTURES DUEL AT DONATU III

EARTH STAR DATE : Jan 9^th 2274 DONATU III

INTRODUCTION

            USS Hornet, Captain Blivin Putnam commanding, after responding to a Tellarite frieghter inbound to Sherman's planet, the USS Hornet chased

the unidentified pirate to the Klingon side of the neutral zone to the Donutu system. The warp trail ended at Donatu III. 

SPECIAL RULES

Federation Player must successfully get the final leg of the pirates warp trail by completing a Difficulty 3 Sensor sweep.

Once doing this he may disengage with 20 vps.

Klingon Player must successfully engage the Federation Heavy Cruiser: 5vps, and survive until help arrives from the Naval Base at Donatu V by completing a communication Task 1 for 15vps

Klingon Re-enforcements will be 2D6 of D7Bs and arrive in 1D6 rounds

OUTCOME

            USS Hornet, was taken by surprise by the precision of the Klin'Zha Helmsmen who warped the Klingon D7C Battlecruiser out at close range off the

USS Hornet's aft beam. The D7C Klin'Zha then proceeded to make a battle pass firing 4 disrutor cannons and a spread of 9 Photon torpedoes.

The USS Hornets shields dropped to 22% luckily ALL the Klingon Photon Torpedoes missed.

As the Klin'Zha swung in for another pass, the Hornet hit the Klingon D7C with all its Phaser banks twice ripping off its shields and

reducing its structural integrity to 14 percent. As the Klin'Zha made its second pass, 7 of its 9 Photons hit dropping the Hornet's Shields and reducing

 Hornet's Super structure to 60%. Hornet's phasers and photon torpedoes hit  back and the Klingon D7C was Disabled

and finished its movement drifting 6 zones out.

Captain Blivin Putnam was faced with a decision. Finished off the Klingon, or locate the Pirate. He ordered a determined Sensor scan for the Pirate.

USS Hornet's Science officer finally found the pirate ships warp trail from Donatu III, leading to Danatu II "Torgua" (Human UFP code name) station.

A notorious Klingon Privateer/Pirate Haven. The Scan revealed that the ships warp signature had not left the station so the pirate must still be there.

At this point 8 Klingon D7Bs arrived to aid the Klin'Zha. Captain Putnam having completed his mission Warped Out traveling at Warp 8

for Deep Space Station K-9 in the Drozana System.

Thought Admiral Krenn lamented his wrecked Battle cruiser and took solace in ordering the execution of the forward torpedo officer for incompetence.

With half the crew dead, the Klin'Zha was beyond saving. She would be scrapped. Krenn however would make sure the survivors that fought well

would be transferred to a new K'T'Inga class Battle Cruiser (UFP code named D7M) that would continue the  Klin'Zha name.
