2254 MISSIONS TO DARREN 224

In 2254, the USS Cortez entered the system on a survey mission and discovered a lost Vulcan colony. After a short while, the crew of the Cortez fell victim to the Vulcans' internal politics and was boarded and taken in battle by one faction. She was later refitted with a powerful pre-enlightenment Vulcan weapon, the Tol par-doj.

Eight weeks later the USS Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, was sent to investigate the disappearance of the Cortez. Captain Pike avoided the same fate of the USS Cortez for the USS Enterprise but

in doing so the USS Cortez was destroyed. Unfortunately by destroying the Cortez, Pike ignited the “Final War” between the two Vulcan factions.

The colony had been established over 2,000 earth years ago during the old "Vulcan Star Empire" and was isolated after

its collapse in the the 4th century AD(Earth Calender). Although they didn't retain the capability to build new space craft, certain technologies were maintained including several very powerful weapons, such as the Tol par-doj.

All life on the planet was destroyed in 2254 as the result of the two factions going to war. The moon was reduced to a type H/Y Demon world with seas of hot magma surrounding very active volcanoes.

INTRODUCTION

T'Pol a Vulcan Vahklis class survey ship arrives in system and surveys for any remnants of the former colony.

F4 Raptor SuD’Dung’Daj (The Green Flame) has already arrived and remains cloaked and observes the

Vulcan vessel. The Klingon's mission is to see if any of the Ancient Vulcan super weapons are still about.

SPECIAL RULES

Federation Player must successfully get a distress call off and then survive another 2D6 rounds with the Klingon Frigate before a Federation DD Squadron

(1D6-1 = 0-5 Ships) arrives. Staying engaged till the Federation DDs arrives award the Federation captain with 20 vps.

Klingon Player must successfully information on the former Vulcan colony,  Then the Klingon may disengage for free.

Finding/Capture of weapon data is worth 15vps

Leaving the system with that data is 10vps

OUTCOME

            Inquisitor KVell of the SuD'Dung'Daj decides to stay cloaked and attempt to tap the T'Pol's internal com systems. His Com Officer and Science Officers are successful.

Commander T’Phara is also successful in her survey of the planet. Although the planet is quite dead

wreckage from the USS Cortez is still in orbit and enough of the ship's computer core is found intact to analyze.

Although specifics about the weapon systems the Ancient Vulcans were using were lacking, the wreck's computer core

did have a list of  systems which had both Former Vulcan Empire colonies, AND arsenals on them.

The closest is Kudzu Station.

Inquisitor KVell satisfied with the data retrieved orders the SuD'Dung'Daj (The Green Flame) to retreat to a safe

 position and warp out un observed (both tasks were succesful)

Commander T’Phara is also successful in contacting both Star Fleet Command and The Vulcan Science Counsel

before they too wapred out for Deep Space K12
