With and the German and Italian troops falling back through Persia, Iraq, Egypt, and then Tunisia with the lost of North Africa in Operation Torch, the collapse of the short-lived Japanese-supported provisional government in India (April 1942 to October 1943) was inevitable. The Japanese were then pushed back into Burma. India is now out of the war and a completely independent country.
